My beautiful friend Pamela is having a baby girl in 3 weeks! Today was her baby shower, and I chose this picture of Melissa, Pam and myself as my Project 3.6.5. Picture.
Last February, I checked out The Corner Suite Bistro de Luxe for the first time. Since then, I've been a handful of times. Most recently was for a Christmas lunch with my friend Trevor; I had the most amazing ham sandwich.
Very sad to see that it's closed down now. What does it take for a restaurant to make it in Vancouver?
So, I'm really sick of being sick... I thought I was starting to get better, but when my throat was still hurting today, I went back to the doctor. Turns out I have a throat/tonsil infection. This makes me grumpy for several reasons:
1) I have to go on Antibiotics.
2) I feel like crap and am in a lot of pain.
3) I had plans to go tonight to a going-away party for one of my very favourite people. Trevor is moving to Toronto and I'm not going to be able to say good-bye tonight.
So, here is my Project 3.6.5. picture for today... pretty self-explanitory; I had to go to London Drugs to pic up my latest prescription.

But to honour Trevor, I thought I should post a couple of pictures of him too. Can't wait to visit you in TO!!
As I walked by the local fire hall today I noticed the flag was flying at half-staff... it was then I remembered that the service for a 35 year old police officer, husband and father, Sgt. Ryan Russell was today. He lost his life tragically this week while protecting innocent civilians. May he rest in peace. #RIP7686
This is where I spent the first part of my morning. It was my first visit to the Crossroads clinic, and I would definitely go back if I needed to. It was very modern and clean and the staff were very professional.
Anyway... I have the flu and inflamed tonsils and I feel like crap, so enjoy today's Project 3.6.5. Picture.
I'm sick. Pretty sure it's a bug. I'm grumpy and feel gross, but I still had to post a Project 3.6.5. picture.
I knew I wasn't going to leave my place today, so I just opened my door and snapped a quick shot of my Canadian Flag.
I put up this flag last February, just a few days before the Olympics started. I had planned to take it down after the games were finished, but I still can't bring myself to do it. Maybe after the anniversary of the final end of the games. I still think "Go Canada Go!" when I look at it.
"Seriously... Can this day get any worse? I woke up with a killer headache and sore throat, I walked to work in the pouring rain, and just now realized that I left my wallet at home!!! I have no $$ for lunch! And it's only 10am! Arrrgg!!!"
Well... it did get worse... the throat started hurting more and I got all achy. On my way home, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some juice, soup and other feel good foods... I walked around the store and piled up my basket. I went and waited in line and started putting my stuff on the counter.
Then... Guess what??
Exactly! No Wallet!!!!!
I swear, I wanted to cry.
Anyway... at home now. Just online for long enough to post my Project 3.6.5. Picture.
I took this pic of the Vancouver Art Gallery steps this morning. It was pouring rain, (big surprise), and the sidewalk was empty. So grey...
Last night the City of Vancouver had a snow warning. My Project 3.6.5. picture shows the difference between Toronto and Vancouver: in Vancouver, the day after a snow warning, there is only a bit of slush on the ground, and people wear their rain boots to work.
On Robson Street, up in the tree, there is a bunch of balloons that probably got stuck on New Year's Eve. Not sure how they're going to get down, so for now just enjoy today's Project 3.6.5. Picture.
I finally got around to taking down my Christmas Tree today. Today's Project 3.6.5. picture is of my ornaments all packed away in their box. Not super exciting I realize, but I'm such a fan of the way the box is divided up into sections, that I just had to share it.
Today I went to visit my friend Melissa and her son, Max. They just moved to a new place and Max has his own room now. It's big enough to fit his pop-up Thomas the Train, (that I bought him for his birthday), and I found my perfect background for today's Project 3.6.5. Picture.
Today's Project 3.6.5. picture was taken outside my office window. The window faces the alley between Robson and Alberni and while an alley view wouldn't always be considered desirable, this one is a little different. There is a mural of a forest that I get to look at anytime I want. Bringing a bit of mother nature to the downtown core.
I went to Chinatown today for a meeting. While there, I snapped this picture of the "China Gate". The gate was originally on display at the Chinese Pavilion at Expo 86 and was later donated to the City of Vancouver by the Chinese Government.
Although it was a wet and grey day, the gate's bright colours added the perfect burst of energy to a dull sky.
Most people already know that I work on Robson Street; that means I'm on the street almost every day. THAT means a fair number of my Project 3.6.5. pictures will be from Robson Street. Today I stopped by the Gap and saw the cutest little boy's t-shirt. (I wish my nephews were still small enough to wear this size). I also Love all of the little girl's tutus out there! Toddler clothes are way too cute!
Back in May, I planted tomatoes on my deck. At the time, I planned on blogging about how well, (or not), they grew. Well... I never got around to that blog, but they did end up growing really well. The three plants yielded dozens of tomatoes that were extremely tasty.
Today, when I went out onto the deck I discovered a tomato that had grown, and subsequently rotted.
I've been fighting a flu all weekend, but mustered up enough energy to check out a movie with my Movie Club last night. It was our first movie with the 3 of us in over a year, and although I wasn't feeling 100%, it was so good to see a movie with the other two-thirds again.
Dahn and Michael did their usual movie chatting/giggling throughout the movie and as usual, I stuffed my face with popcorn. It was awesome!
Today's photo was taken as I went out to pick up some groceries in Yaletown. It was a gorgeous day today and I'm glad I got to enjoy it even if only for a short time.
I’ve taken some time off of the blog, but today is January 1st, 2011 and it’s the start of a brand new year.
2010 had a lot of ups and downs. It started off with the most amazing party Vancouver has ever thrown. The Olympics took over my life for the month of February, and I’m so glad I blogged about them, as I probably would have forgotten some of it if I hadn’t.
The year ended on a bit of a quiet note. We had a small intimate dinner party at a girlfriend’s place and I was home in bed alone by 1:30. That’s right… I said alone. There are so many things I would love to write about my breakup in September, but I think I might come off as a bitter, jaded, cynical ex-girlfriend if I do. Instead, I will focus on my future instead of the past. I will try to stay optimistic instead of negative, and I will not use this site to beat up on guys.
I will however say that I finally deleted the ex as a Facebook friend today. I couldn’t handle his status updates; each one felt like a slap in the face and I felt like I was using his profile to stalk him. I have to admit, in the few hours since we’ve been de-friended, I feel as though a weight has been lifted. It’s only Day 1, but so far, I think it was the right decision.
Anyway…
Onward and upward…
2011 is the year I will start dating again. Don’t think I’ll blog much about it, as I really wouldn’t want some guy blogging about my date with him. If things go particularly well, he might get a mention at some time in the future, but for now, some things need to be kept private. If there’s an exceptionally funny or interesting story, I might mention it with some bogus names.
In the mean time, I will be continuing with my (amateur) photography, and in doing so, will do my best to post a new picture everyday. I'm going to call it Project 3.6.5.
Yikes! That’s 365 pictures! Hmmmm… well I’ve got to start somewhere.
Today’s picture, (1/365), is of my Christmas tree. January 1st is typically the day a lot of people take down their trees, but I love the way the lights look so much, I just have to give it a few more days.

Also included today is a montage picture of events in my past year. Every picture was taken in 2010 and include:
• 2 of the men I love most in this world: my nephews, Beckett & Nolan turned 2.
Me. About me. My Blog. Hmmmm… I’ve been writing stuff down for years now. Sometimes on paper, sometimes in emails, sometimes on Myspace, Facebook, or Twitter, (well only 140 characters on twitter), but I’ve finally decided to bring it all to one place. I’ve thought about blogging for sometime now, but I always thought my blogs should have a theme. I read food blogs, gossip blogs, fashion blogs, Olympic blogs, make-up blogs, travel blogs and more. This is why I hadn’t started one up until now; I have lots to say about lots of topics, but not a lot to say about one particular subject. I still haven’t decided on a set topic so for now I will write about what I know best: me! Well… not just me, but things that interest me. Things I see, read, experience, hear and so on… Since the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic games are less than 3 weeks away, I will probably be writing about them for the next little while. After that… who knows?
The sun'll come out Tomorrow, so ya gotta hang on 'til tomorrow Come What May…
