Project 365 Day 120

So in case you didn’t notice, I’m just a bit of a Canucks fan.

Therefore, (especially during the playoffs), several of my Project 3.6.5. Pictures will somehow feature my favourite hockey team. I’m not forcing anyone to view my blog so if you’re not a fan, you don’t have to read it. (But if you do read it, Welcome!)

I was lucky enough to get a new (Luongo) jersey at the game the other night, and when my nephews saw today that it matched theirs, they would not let me take it off. (Seriously, I was hot and took it off for a few minutes and Nolan ran and got it and made me put it back on).

So I (quite willingly, actually) wore it to the park with them today. Because today is a game day, we saw several other people wearing Canucks gear as well, and believe me, the boys definitely noticed.

Today’s Project 3.6.5. Picture was taken when Nolan noticed a guy riding by on his bike with a (Burrows) jersey. He was so excited and the guy on his bike stopped to chat for a few minutes. Now everywhere we go, the boys are pointing to strangers on the street that are donning any Canucks logo and getting very excited that these strangers are smiling and high-fiving them!

In case you don't live in Vancouver and can't hear the cars honking and the screaming on the streets, the Canucks won the hockey game and the series tonight!! I know it's only round 1, but the main point is that we BEAT CHICAGO!!! On to Nashville next!

Yes, it's another picture of my nephews. Yes, it's another picture of my nephews in their Canucks jerseys. We watched the game tonight at my parents' house before, during, and after an amazing Easter dinner. Yes, that is Nolan navigating the iPad like an expert with Beckett looking on.

It was a great game; well played but very stressful. The outcome was exactly the opposite of what we would have wanted and now we have to play in game 7 on Tuesday night. I swear I'm going to have an ulcer by then.

I still love my Canucks and I still believe in them, but a Game 7 situation is definitely what I did not want.

My fingers are crossed! GO CANUCKS GO!!!

Well, it certainly wasn't the outcome we wanted tonight. But we have to have faith: we are still up 3-2 in the series.

The reasons I didn't want to post another plant/flower picture today:

1. I've already posted two this week.
2. I don't want to be THAT lady. Crazy lady that only posts pics of her flowers.
3. Plants and flowers can be rather boring.

The reasons I did post another plant/flower picture today:

1. It's the only picture I took today.
2. Taking pictures of plant and flowers is easier than kids; they don't move and I can practice working on Depth of Field.
3. It's a follow-up picture to the one I took on February 6; the flowers have died, but there is a new shoot that I just noticed today.
4. Plants and flowers can be rather exciting.

Vancouver turned 125 today.

Last year on this date I posted a Vancouver Then and Now Blog. This year, I walked down to the Olympic Cauldron and checked out the scene as they were setting up for the celebration this evening. It was a gorgeous spring day... a little crisp, but the sun was out and that's all that really mattered. A perfect day for today's Project 3.6.5. Picture.

It's not the best picture ever in terms of composition, but it's the only picture I took today. Last night, the Vancouver Canucks clinched the Presidents' Trophy for the first time in their history. Today's Project 3.6.5. Picture is of the New Canucks Team Store on Robson and Granville.
