Happy Birthday Vancouver!

Today marks the 124th birthday of our amazing city and I’ve been inspired by some fantastic blogs, (Miss604, and South Granville) to post some before and after pictures of my favourite area: Robson Street!

The idea of before and after pics is not original, (check out Vancouver: Then and Now), but I haven’t really seen many of Robson Street around. So today, exactly 124 years after we became incorporated, I took to the street with just my camera and tried to match some pictures from the archives. Take a look at these and enjoy!

When I was a teen, I performed in a musical that played weekly on the Coca Cola stage at Expo 86. The play was all about Vancouver’s history and celebrating our 100th Birthday. It was cheesy and campy, but I still sing the songs sometimes. One of my favourites was simple, yet so true: Vancouver, Vancouver… a City in Canada’s West. Of all the Cities in Canada, I think Vancouver’s the Best!

Happy Birthday to the Most Beautiful City in the World!
