Olympics Day 5

This city is so Alive!!! Every day I witness new fun people and crazy things going on.

Just a really quick blurb about today in Vancouver:

Maelle Ricker won Canada’s second Gold metal today in snowboard cross! I was at work, so I went out on to Robson Street to hand out some Canadian Flags. The street was hopping; people were yelling and cheering and waiving around their flags. It was awesome!
Some woman on Robson having way too much fun after Canada got its second Gold Medal

I’m going to the Medal Ceremony again tomorrow night so I’ll get to see Ricker get her medal and get to hear our Anthem played once again. Amazing!

Today was also the first day for Canadian Men’s Hockey so I went down to the Yaletown Brew Pub to watch the game with Michael. We beat Norway 8-0!!! Part of me felt bad for the Norwegians, but I was excited that Iginla got a hat trick and Luongo had a shutout, so my sympathy was short lived.

With Michael at the Yaletown Brew Pub - GO CANADA!!!

Just finished watching Patrick Chan figure skate; he got an 81.12 for his short program. Not bad, but not great either. He still has a chance at the podium Thursday if he skates a perfect free skate, (and if the Russian, Plushenko, and the American, Lysacek both falter). Fingers crossed!

The medal count for today is:
2 GOLD – 2 SILVER - 1 BRONZE

GO CANADA GO!!!!

At the Yaletown Brew Pub - Sorry Norway!
